American Ginseng has been used medicinally for centuries. Indigenous Native American tribes, like the Iroquois, first used it for immune and respiratory support.*
Ginsenosides found in American ginseng regulate the production of neurotransmitters, which are widely recognized for their positive effects on the central nervous system. Two double-blind studies indicate that American ginseng can help improve working memory, with one study showing improvements only three hours after intake.*

Sustainably grown
Our local partners work in tandem with ginseng farmers who closely monitor the environmental impact of cultivation on the land. They use techniques like shading their fields and planting new trees after each harvest in order to farm as sustainably as possible.
American ginseng can take over a decade to reach maturity, and since colonization, wild populations in the U.S. have seen a significant decline. We source ours from small scale farms in the Jilin and Heilong Jiang provinces of China, where Asian ginseng has been cultivated historically.
